scwd(squid)
anyone have any experience with these thinking of getting 2 for my 125 gallon on 2 mags (950gph) switching flow from the back and from the sides what does everyone think?

I ran one for about a year without any problems-they do cut down the out put of a pump considerably though.A mag 9 should have 1 1/2" pipe for max flow & a SCWD inside pipe diameter is about 1/2",so you will loose a lot of flow.HTH

I had 2 on my 150 for aver 2y no pro they will work forever if u use the right amount of flow I will use them again in the 375g

I use 1 SCWD on my Closed loop that is pushed by an OR 6500 (1700GPH). In my setup I use a T after the pump, 1 end goes to the scwd the other end goes to 2 pipes that are ran to the bottom of the tank. All outlets on the the tank have ball valves so that I can control them individually.
Additionally, on the scwd outlets I use eductors to get a bit more flow out of them. The OR 6500 is not pressure rated, but I did notice about 2x output with these. |

Oh yeah, I noticed the first few days of operation that it made some noise, but it has quieted down since then. Occassionaly i will here a hum from it, but not too often.
