SPS

Hi Chingchai. I agree that sometimes simple is better. What test kit do you use to measure Calcium level?

Schuran

Hi ChingChai. Why did you choose Schuran Calcium reactor? Do you also use a Kalk stirrer or reactor in your tank? BTW, nice pics and superb corals! Thanks.

Thank you eddtango.
I used to run Korallin Calcium reactor and I was not quite happy with the result. So my friend recommended this Schuran. I can tell that it works more consistent than the old one.
No, I didn't use any Kalk stirrer. I just add C-balance.

Refugium

Thanks for the reply Chingchai. Do you have the lights for the refugium on 24/7? Did you encounter any problems with the Caulerpa?

Chingchai, can you tell me how you feed you Schuran Ca reactor? Is it via your return pump or you have a peristaltic pump to feed it/

Thanks

Amazing reef tank!

I don't see why your tank won't make it in the TOTM.

Did you start growing your corals as frags or were they colonies when you got them?

Re: Refugium

Thank you xinumaster.
Most of them are frags.

I did have the lights for refugium on 12/7. Actually I want to do 24/7 but I have two seahorse in my refugium. Never have any problem with Caulerpa.

I have been following your thread for a while and enjoy looking at all your pictures.

I find your tank to be my biggest inspiration at the moment, thank you.

1 question for you, what pump exactly are you ising to feed your Schuran calcium reactor?

Thank you Green Thumb.
I drill one small hole from Eheim pump which feed the refugium and link it to Schuran calcium reactor.

Hello

I've seen several tanks from around the world here on RC. Tanks from, Greece, Italy, Germany, Thailand, Japan, Iraq and of course here in the USA. I even read a thread where a fellow reefer from Greece, who beat us in Basketball I believe, wanted to comfort us with his tank photos, lol. This hobby definitely is international and interesting. I want to see more tanks from all over the world. So, I thought we could have a mock olympics, the International Reef Olympics. What country would you say has the best Reefs, the most variety of corals, fish, etc? Is it the USA, GREECE, GERMANY, CHINA, JAPAN, THAILAND? Let's see, post a pic of your favorite reef tank, it doesn't have to be yours. It can be fowlr, dsb, bb, ssbm dsb, SPS dominated, softies zoas, or a combination of all. We can vote on any tank or tanks. And the winner gets to reall brag about being the best, sorry no trophy. So, post pics of your favorite tank, and no it doesn't have to be yours.

Who, or what country has the be Reef tanks?

GO USA!

Thank you chingchai for showing me this detail.

Just wondering, how do you prevent siphoning out in case of power outage?

I asume you have enough space in your sump to accomodate the extra water from your reactor?

thanks

Thank you for your comment. RevClyburn.
One thing I really love about this hobby is there is no winner of the best tank.
The best of the best tank in every aspect is the tank we dedicate most of the time and effort into it.
