Tasseled Filefish - reef Safe???
I'd like to add a Tasseled Filefish to my 90 gal reef which includes zoanthids, nephthias, xenias, a trachyphilia, an ancora, scroll corals, gorgonians, some ricordias, assorted mushrooms, a multicolor angel, and some blue-green chromis.
My research so far hasn't been very enlightening re the compatibility of the TF's and the present inhabitants of my tank. Any of youse guys have any experience with, and/or knowledge of, the Tasseled Filefish's habits and dietary preferences other than that they are omnivores? Would any of the corals be at risk? Thanks. I personally own a large tasseled file (7 inches) he is in my FO, and never even pecks at my live rock. When I picked him up at my LFS, he was in a reef set up. I'd put mine in a reef, but all fish are different.
As for personality he is a great fish, my personal favorite, he is always coming over to you looking at you, checking you out. The friendliness you see in triggers but with out any temper what so ever. He is a very large pushover. Mine, Cheeburger |

Thanks for your experiences, suggestions, and links - all very helpful.
I now have a cute little (~3" Tasseled file fish) in quarantine. I'd share him with you , but I can't seem to get any worthwhile pics with my Nikon coolpix 5700 - way overrated, imo. Jay |
