Prestone Driveway Heat = Peladow at HD
Hey Randy i found the Prestone Driveway Heat in ohio. I called the company and arron at Scotwood Industries Inc. the manufacture of Prestone Drive Way Heat said it was 100 % Anhydrous CaCL. Cost = 16.00 at HD, kinda expensive. Now i know your two part additive used Dowflake. How would i go about using this 100% CaCl. I have used Kandyman's calcium additive calculator. I would need 6 tsps. What would be the correct mixing method?

If, in fact, Prestone Driveway heat is actually repackaged peladow (as indicated to one RC member in an email from the manufacturer), which in turn is a dehydrated version of Dowflake (the only bulk brand that I tested for impurities), then it is probably OK to use from an impurity prespective.
For calculations, assume it is the same as Kent's Turbo Calcium.

Randy, Scotwood also sells another product Roadrunner. Any info on that?
Here's a link to it's MSDS: http://www.scotwoodindustries.com/Ro...20-%20MSDS.doc

Roadrunner has other "stuff" mixed in. It is not just the Pleadow which the company said was all that is in Prestone Driveway Heat.

Right. The linked MSDS says:
"Roadrunner Ice Melting Compound Contains a proprietary combination of Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Chloride." So I wouldn't use it.
