I got finished with the supports for my stand today...keep in mind this is my first time building a stand as I usually buy them from a builder but wanted to give it a shot.
Im having a issue as the back supports lean slightly back and I cant tell if its the wood shape or what...either way whats the best way to fix this...since I dont have a tank on it yet can't I just cut a piece of wood the length of the tank and use it as a built on shim?

I did a quick mockup of how the aclove will look when Im done...Im basically going for a false inwall look...with a bar on the front...there is some space on the rigth side of the tank and wall where I am installing a wine/bottle rack.

Make sure you primer the pine a few times, even with that you might have some painting problems with it. It's usually best to use sandply or birch in these applications. Good luck!

I was thinking about using the birch but I didn't want to pay the price for them..figured since I was painting and not staining it should'nt be to hard.

Not that big of a deal, except that type of ply tends to show the grain when painted...

im still debating black or white...the kitchen will be a wine red color...would black or white look better..I think white would complement the moulding better.

I think white would look better for the reason you stated. Black will hide a lot of the detail in the work.

white it is....im trying to debate how to go about doing the canopy part...I don't want to put alot of weight on the stand so I may have to brace it to the ceiling or walls...not really sure yet.
