If there's any interest!!! Will begging help? You have some of the greatest pictures Kayla. Tanks look excellent. Has the LTA monster stopped growing yet?

i like that gorg in the first pic of the first set Kayla. i just got a similar one at my last reef club meeting. its not quite as pruple and its covered in polyps. it looks almost like a digitata from a distance its so fluffy looking. i like it though. im going to try and get a few more gorgs. i got one on my TBS also, as a freebie but i cant seem ot find any decent specimanes locally. my LFS keeps odrereing these gorgeous yellow and reds with huge (for a gorg) white polyps. they are great looking but only stay that way for a few days.

I really appreciate the kind words everyone. Likewise, if you ever have any suggestions, please feel free to speak up. I still have TONS to learn!

Thanks again! LOL well, I am a sucker for beggars...

The LTA is still continuing to overtake the tank! I would love to set up a simple 30g cube (or one with similar size/dimensions) in the future for just the clowns and anemone, but school combined with a lack of money means that's rather impossible currently. It would be great to have the extra space (more like half of the tank) in my 46g though.

The difference is in just what you noted: the polyps' color. Gorgs with brown polyps are generally photosynthetic, whereas all gorgs with white polyps are not. For this reason, many people have problems keeping the non-photosynthetic species alive, as feeding is necessary for their survival. I personally have never kept a gorgonian that was not photosynthetic, so I cannot weigh in on their hardiness from experience.

Sweet pictures... Your LT looks like a creature with multiple arms from a horror movie! When people come over you should tell them not to put there face over the tank, or it will grab them and suck them in!!!

Happy Thursday everyone! I have some exciting news:

Recently, I have noticed the horses acting rather strange in the mornings; it looks to me like they are pairing up! It is so cool to watch; the male changes colors (mostly darkens) and twists his body in every direction in an attempt to impress the female, who usually just swims around the tank (followed closesly by her partner, as their tails are linked). This has happened every morning right after the lights come on, and as soon as I feed them, the romance abruptly stops.

Sounds like I have some preparing to do! I don't know how long the "dating" phase lasts, but I will keep you updated.

Here are some pics for you (sorry no courting ones; I don't want to disrupt any flirting with a camera flash):

Another witness

Have a great end to your week!

Kayla

Oh, come on, get us some courting pics!

Tip on not using the flash: play with your aperture and f-stop. You will be pleasantly surprised how much these can brighten an image - and flashless, too!

Well it would help if I knew what those features were, lol. I don't know nearly enough about my camera. BUT, I do know how to make a video...Courting Horses

And some pictures (EDIT: I'm not sure why PB is suddenly resizing them, my apologies)

Ooook.

These are from a few days ago...I didn't post them because I have decided that I take too many pics.

Have a good week!
