Unhappy Step-daughter & husband

came over today with their New Foundland and Rat Terrier puppies, and now we all want a puppy!

What kind should we get?

Maybe I'll skip the flat screen TV I was going to get hubby and just get him a puppy!

Well if it's between those two I'd get a Newfie ANY day! Sweet dogs, but big. Lots of hair. But very sweet! And good swimmers too.

Nope, it would be any kind of a dog. But both the puppies were adorable if you could call the Newfie adorable at it's size. But she had the sweetest eyes! I bet that puppy will get away with anything!

There's few dogs more disgusting than a full-grown Newfie, especially moments after drinking from the water bowl. Yech!

this is my dad's new pup, Yoda. he's twice as big now as he was in these pics, but SUCH an awesome puppy. energy through the roof! I'm told he walks around 5 miles per day, and still has energy to spare.

oh, he's a german shorthair pointer, and an extremely smart puppy.

I saw an English Bulldog puppy in the mall petstore...white and brindle....for $3500.00 !!!

The sales girl said, regarding the puppy, 'Her father is a 5 time Champion AKC Bulldog.....blah blah blah' I was like....FOR 3500.00 HE BETTER BE A 5 TIME CHAMPION TAX CONSULTANT, DISH WASHER, LAWN CUTTER, ELECTRICIAN, CARPENTER AND MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER ! ! !

I can't speak from personal experience, but from friends who have dogs-- a mutt from the pound often makes a better companion than a fancy-schmancy purebred, and costs way less.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll pass on the $3500 bull dog, Uh_Oh! With my luck the dog would be suicidal and run out into the highway!

Pretty German Shorthair!! Hubby actually wanted one of those a few years back!

I agree with the pound pups or a mix as the dog I had growing up lived a lot longer than or pure breds.
