Acropora abrotanoides - will it keep its color?

Solomon maricultured piece i just ordered from liveaquaria.

Here is the pic:

I just noticed they have another piece with the same name also called "red and green"
named Solomon maricultured red and green stag, also under the name abrotanoides.

am i going to lose the pink and green????

I was eyeing that one! Glad someone here got it, I'd like to see how it makes out in your tank.

It will color up if the water is good and you have good lighting. Medium to high light and flow.
This is after it was totally brown and 1 month in my tank.

here's one when I first got it two months ago..

Here it is now....

Another one that I got a month after....

and that piece today...

IMO, this is one tough coral to get to color up. The one you got from LA looks a lot better than both of mine though. You may have a better colored piece to begin with.

It has a spectalular shape/texture, IMHO, regardless of color. Nice corals Tom!

EZ, great piece... love to see how it does in your tank. BTW, I would also love to be put in line for a frag after it grows out!

i think its gonna be hard to frag, the branches are THICK, around 3/4 an inch in diameter

I hope you didnt think I was insisting you frag it... I just ment that there are several growth tips already for it to grow out from. Although someday a frag would be cool!

Gabe, its gonna be blasted with light and flow. if that doesn't work to keep the pink, then i'll move it lower.

Very nice! They like good swirling flow, not direct and good light, not too much.
