Ok, heres the deal. I think I will wait until pay day (the 20th) to spend my $40.00 in credit, that way I can spend some of my own money also and I am going to get the following:
4-5 Yellow tailed damsels for the reef. That will REALLY make it look good with a school of small, fast, colorful fish. 1 or 2 Black and White Heniouchus for the 75 gallon. I would like two but I do not know if I can safely put two in a 29 gallon QT tank!!

That sounds good because that's what you really wanted. You should do what will make you the happiest!

It sounds like one! Now, will it work!!
I am still wondering about the two black and white heniouchus. You should introduce multiple ones together, however, they are big and I am not sure about sticking them in a 29 gallon QT.

So why don't you try putting them in QT for a shorter duration this time. Instead of 6 weeks like you usually do, try to cut it down to 4 weeks. You would most probably see if they're healthy by then.

I only do 4 weeks anyways, payday to payday.

You're very carful, and I would think in a couple of weeks you would see if a fish was diseased.

maybe you could do a blue dip instead of QT. Better than rolling the dice without any QT

Phil i think you are correct. i wouldnt ecxpect to see "schooling" with any fish in this size tank. having multiple ones will disperse the aggresion, and at least there will be interaction among the group. if Dave gets them all relatively the same size, and at the same time, there should be no one who establishes too much dominance, or too little.

I would say that would be the key, to get them all the same size and time, dominance would be minimal. I still like the chromis myself, but the yellow tails are nice looking

A short update!
I thought I would take a bit out of my schedule to give a brief update.
Well, the brief update is everything is still going fine.....LOL Actually, I think I had a cuke die, but I am not sure. I saw one of the cukes in the back of the tank and on the sand and he looked split open. However, I came back back about 15-20 minutes later to scoop him out and he was no where to be seen. Strange indeed. The YT in QT is doing fine. He is eating and swimming, eating and swimming. I have been giving him sheets of dried seaweed, omnivore mix and brine shrimp. Loves it all. I am undecided as to whether he will be placed into the reef or the 75 gallon. I have decided, it will 4-5 yellow tailed damsels for the reef tank. I think they would look great. A friend has some and they are stricking looking fish, especially in a group. I think next year I am going to do some aquarium rotating. I think my 75 gallon FO will become my reef tank. I will buy another 40 gallon package, cycle it in the 75 gallon tank, then move the stuff from the 40 into it. The stuff in the 75 gallon will be roatated into something 100+ gallons, maybe 180 gallons. That way I can keep some larger fish in the FO tank. Well, thats it for today!!

OK, how about a little update........
Everything is going great!!! Actually, um, everything is going great. I have fished a couple more peppermint shrimp out and now my green brain is back to looking good. He was always deflated and was losing flesh and showing skeleton, the damn peppermint shrimp were eating him. I checked some water parameters today after not cheking in a LONG time: pH: 8.4 Nitrate: 2.5 Nitrite: 0 And people say saltwater is hard. Pffffffffffffff!!! Ok guys, a friend of mine is selling off his beautiful 20 gallon reef, here is what he has: Corals include Green Mushrooms Orange and Purple Zoos Yellow Colony Polyp Button Polyp Xenia Kenya Tree Green Star Burst(two types) Red Brain Coral Wildlife Blue and Yellow Damsel False Clown Royal Gramma Sand Sifting Star Fish Coral Banded Shrimp Hermits Snails Live Rock (20-25lbs) Live Sand (20lbs) Equipment 20 Gal Reg Stand Coral Life 65w compact light Prizim Skimmer Pumps Heater He wants $600.00 for all or $425.00 minus the equipment. I am thinking about doing it without equipment. What do you think??
