Just joined in, and I have no idea what I'm doing?!??!!

I feel so helpless like anyone who even sees me can just walk in and take my planet. Do I have to wait for PPs to build up to 150 before I can do anything? How do I make changes to my planet?

After almost one day of play, I have the following stats:

Population 2
Hydroponic Farm 2
Robotic Factory 1
Galactic Cybernet 0
Research Lab 1
Starbase 2

Biology 2
Economy 0
Energy 0
Mathematics 0
Physics 0
Social 0
Culture 1

Any recommendations for my next points? And my science? Even though my biology is 2, I still do not see any neighboring star systems. How long before I can actually do anything but build up my production point base? This seems like it will take forever.

This is mine after about a day of playing. It does seem to be taking forever. Runner we need to team up in a few days and take up some of the other planets in our system. I think in a few days time we own most of it. Although I am not real sure how to go about doing any of that yet! And an RC alliance would be realuy nice.

Runner - tkae Farms and Factories up to 6 or 7 before doing anything else

on science - social is a good way to start - you wont need math, physics, bio for a long time

energy is just nice to have but isnt useful till later when u have a fleet

We need to find a chat room once we all get up with our fleets so the alliance can coordinate attacks/defence and stragety.

This is really cool.

I figured that out just a few minutes ago. I ignorantly left my science on bio overnight and it went up when I wasn't looking. Starting on that now -- plus building a GC as soon as my next robotics gets its upgrade.

This game is starting to look very addictive.

For direct communications, you can use my ICQ number: 46515018

I think ICQ can support multiple conversations. If not, we can always find an IRC server somewhere.

So, what do we name our alliance? It has to be something the general public understands. Hmmmm. How about "The Galactic Nemos". Ah, well. I'll let the experienced people handle that. I feel like a gnat on a horse's butt at the moment.

Is it better to attack a very week planet or build longer and try to take a stronger planet with more infrastructure in place? Or is it better to work out an alliance with a strong player in your system.
I will be getting my third planet today and pretty soon I'll be ready to make a move.

Any advice?

dodofish, having an ally in your system is very powerful, the two of you can fight off just about any invader with coordinated attacks. As for the planets, I like taking the higher-level planets as they're ready to go and have PP's and infrastructure waiting for you, plus you get more experience. If you're already to the next culture level though and it'll take a long time to get the higher-level planet you're probably better off grabbing whatever planet you can get right now and getting the ball rolling, then hit the other one when your next culture point kicks in.

Thanks! This game really picks up once you get a couple of planets.

after about 8 hours (i started playing 4am this morning) I have:

population 1(+2)
hydroponic farm 1
research lab 1
starbase 2
my production poitns are (+1) also

I have level 1 social science, and a science point rate of +2 per hour.

My strategy is to increase my point rate first, then increase my population, then . . Try to take over the world! er . . universe.

anyone had this problem:

i cannot log into my personal inbox and send messages and things - therefore i have no way of asking an admin for help

i want to offer an alliance to a person in my system before we kill eachother - on that note:

i own planets 3,4,6,7 in my system
she has 1,2,5 - i was on my way to 5 so i had a nice block and she took it! I kinda just want to anniilate her but im afraid of a huge fleet in waiting

im at 14 -47 - planets 3-8 areat least guarded by me

what do you think this means? My opponent in my system colonizes a free planet and i had already sent a destoyer there to orbit - their colony ship got there first then I arrived and there was no battle. So they dont have a fleet there (yet). Maybe they dont have a fleet at all... I think I may put on the full attack tomorrow

Stephen, I can PM them if you want. There was an issue with the PM system on their board a few days ago, but I thought it was resolved.

Their system had no defenses, so your destroyer just cruised in and took control. She probably thinks you did it on purpose, so ya might expect a counter attack.

Anybody out near me in -42/1?

if you wouldnt mind justletmein tha'd be great

my id there is srit1 like here

i think you are right - i expect a counter attack - im counting on it =) I am hoping she is sending the preponderance of her fleet there - planet 1 to 5.... long trip at this stage in the game

then once her fleet arrives there launching an attack fleet against her main planet - we shall see... this is fun

question though: 1) if a planet is owned by another and they have 0 starbases, pop=1, and you have ds in orbit: can they still develop the planet?

2) if you are orbiting a free planet with ds what if another's colony ship arrives?

we've got a good number of of people here so lets continue the strategy talk and alliances! i sure wish i had one of you near by

I'll send the PM now.

1) They cannot spend any PP's while under seige, and nothing will accumulate if they don't login. If they keep logging in you'll get their accumulated PP's when you get there with your transports.
2) Your DS will swat the other player's colony/transport ship like a fly.
