luckily my parents enjoy the house at near freezing temps otherwise I would most definitely need a chiller, but between 79.5 and 81.5, most days it just hangs at 80.7. The most extreme days it will go to 78 or 82.7. Hope the decimal places aren't an overkill.

80-82 with a chiller running during the day in a house where temps can be 77-80 (My parents want to save on their electric bill).

I think my temp is so high because I've got a mostly closed hood (only back is open about 4"x3') and there are no fans in it, just indirect circulation and heat induced circulation.

I let it swing from 79 to 81. I have a 55g with only a fan blowing on the water. A heater keeps the water from dropping under 79. So far so good as the summer heat is here.
