Euro Reef Alteration

Has anyone added another sedra 5000 to a CS8-2? I'm thinking of doing this to my 8-2 ,because I'm goung from a 125 gal. tank to a 225 gal. tank. I have an extra sedra 5000,and I don't have the $$ to buy say a Cs12-2. I would like to know if this will work, before I poke another hole in my skimmer?

Thanks Brian for the fast reply. I had hoped someone here on RC has done this, and would reply. If I don't get any more replies I will try another forum.

leave the original pump as it is,

For the new pump you have to drill 2 holes in the body of yrou skimmer one for the intake of the new pump and one for the output back into the skimmer. Pretty much a miniture cloed loop.

Is the extra sedra you have a standard sedra or a modified one for euroreef skimmers?

If you need more intruction let me know i know i didnt quite give a step by step

I did just that to my CS8-2. Happy with the results.

This was the original post:

Similiar mod to an ASM skimmer, much like Euro-reef:

Give it a shot.
