Nice, but DE pwns SE all day

Edit, forget that ^^^

SE has more color choices, but DE run on a magnetic ballast will actually run more like around 300w.

Trav,

I'm just razzing you Really though, I think you mean HQI/M80 ballasts, which run 30-50W higher than they're rated for. However, I'm pretty sure that they'll run SE bulbs at the same wattage as DE bulbs. If I wasn't about to leave work I'd double check Sanjay's site to be sure.

My Lumenarc can beat up your Reef Optix

i thought i replied to this thread way back in the beginning but my net or RC might not have posted my post...anywho

my inspirations when i started were: JB NY, mtndewman, and mojoreef mainly..but all the others here are inspirations in and of them selves

CamBarr - you had to go an wreck this thread by posting my old 20H :P i loved that tank but it had issues that i would have changed eventually w/ more experience. i am humbled and amazed that the 20H was posted as an inspiration...i truely appreciate it!

ReeferMonkey - that 400w was perfect over that tank IMO. it worked great. the troubles in my 58gal are worked out finally. it was an issue w/ PO4 in Oceanic salt (IMO) is what crashed everyone of the corals that were transfered from the 20H. only one brain that has been w/ me for 3yr and 7months survived

MiddletonMark - i posted more pics of my 58gal yesterday too thanks for the compliment. you guys are really making me embarassed and blush. thanks

ReeferMonkey - that 6-line was a fatty. loved that fish. hope to add one sometimes soon...they are fun. that one was the biggest one i have seen (in person) to date. not sure if i just see babies all the time or what.

as far as the lighting goes. i'm REALLY loving my 20k 400w and 10k 400w on my 58gal. really gets the best of both worlds w/ the 10 and 20k. unfortunately when i upgrade (yrs from now) i wont' be able to afford to run a 10 and 20k right next to each other

guess NOW i'm taggin in the tread...wonder why my post didn't work so long ago??
thanks everyone!
