battery grip question

I have a canon xt and want to get a battery grip for it

I've seen prices across the board for different aftermarket brands

does anyone have any brands to reccomend or better yet any brands to steer clear of?

thanks

I believe you have to get a Canon grip for that specific camera, but I dunno since youv'e said there are different brands. I would get a Canon grip for a Canon camera but thats just me.

Nope, there are a few other brands of grips for the 350/400D. Main one which I hear decent things about is the Opteka Grip. Most people seem to like it, I don't have it so can't say, have heard of issues regarding it powering down occasionally due probably to bad connections and not as strict of QC (hey, its half the price of the Canon one), but ones that end up with a lemon say the replacement is pretty non-hassle .

I'm planning on getting one sometime here but I'll probably go with the Canon one.

I bought an Opteka Grip for my girlfriend's Rebel. It is every bit as good as the Canon brand I put on my 30D for much less. I highly recommend it.

For those prices, might be worth the gamble.
