Center Brace Question
Ok so I have a 65 reef tank and I have the annoying center brace that casts this lovely shadow right down the middle of my tank. I have been told to just tank it out but I am pretty sure its there for a reason. Is it really safe to take it out? Should I replace it with something else? And if so how do I remove it and what do I replace it with.
Thanks Gina

center brace is design to hold your tank together if you take it out then your tank will buckle and crash. If you want no brace then you need to buy the new design rimless tank. They use a special silicon which can hold your tank together better but not as good as if you have a brace.

You can cut it out a replace it with a clear piece of plexi-glass..use a couple small nylon bollts on both sides to attach the plexi-glass

personally, I would leave it. The risk of a living room tsunami isn't worth it to me.
