All I really want to know at this point is: Do I/we have rust somewhere in our reef systems?

If it were, would you consider that a problem?

I found a product at the grocery store called Carbona Rust Remover. Supposedly it's main ingredient is Carbon Tetrachloride.

Are you kidding? Another chemical from my high hazard list. Carbon tetrachloride won't dissolve iron oxide.

Randy, any thoughts?

Could be iron that is being released and then precipitating. Or bacteria that are depositing something orange.

Yes! I understand their are rusty ships and car parts in our oceans so rust is present there. But I just don't feel at ease knowing it may be in my miniscule part of the ocean.

OK. I will leave that one on the shelf.
How 'bout the mentioned product "bar keepers friend"? Could I make a solution with that and see what the result would possibly be?
