Positive EuroReef Experience

I debated about buying a ER skimmer for a while for several reasons, mainly due to the whole proprietary pump issue, and the fact that ER has posted some pretty rediculous, petty posts here when they've been criticized. I finally gave one a try, buying from Marine Depot (great place, btw). The skimmer constantly leaked from the union where the skimmer cup joins the skimmer body. I cleaned it several times, but it leaked, and it was a fast, steady drip. Their skimmers aren't cheap, so this didn't sit too well with me. I also found it odd that the union didn't have a gasket or o-ring, so I asked them via email. I didn't hear back for 3-4 days, but they did respond. "Yes, the union is supposed to have an o-ring. Send us your address and we'll get one to you." I got the o-ring yesterday, priority mail, and was surprised, but pleased.

I know they have a fairly shoddy reputation for customer service, and while it kinda surprised me that my skimmer wasn't right the first time, they made it right in a reasonable amount of time. Oh, yeah, and it's a pretty kick butt skimmer as well......
