I need a new clam

Ive got a half dozen, couple fairly big........all croceas and a maxima....

none of them are boring by any means......but after browsing this forum for 20 minutes I just realized I need a couple fo new ones.

wheres the best place to buy a couple of really nice ones??

I dont even care what kind....just want something that makes me go WOW.

On that note.......how would i go about removing the ones I have from the reef if i decided to off them all and get nicer ones to put in their place???

I am a experienced shipper, but have never removed one of my clams nor shipped one. I would assume you would want to give them a little time after removing them and shipping them??

I would sell them locally....but there are few reefers locally to me

TIA

i know reefscience have some nice squamosa clam once a while.
just see if any local seller, i got 2 of my 10" derasa from couple local reefers.
use a new razor blade(clean it with soap), try to go underneath the clam and cut off the foot.
any pic of your maxima?

There is no one local to me I really have to trade with that I know of.
'
I looked at reefscience...they had 3 clams, 20 of which were sold and none that I wanted anyway

I honeslty dont think blue squammies are all that impressive.........at leat not for the price they demand. Id rather spend $100- 200 on a CRAZY looking crocea then $250-400 on a nice looking blue squammie.

Im not sure I have any pics of my maxima. Its ORA and about 2.5" now. Ive had it only 3 months. I can get a pic if you like though.

i'm not sure about using soap but make sure there isn't any oil on the blade. and you do not want to cut the foot. you can gently tilt the clam to the side and cut the byssal thread as far from the clam as you can.

HTH

check out clams direct for new clams, you have to be fast though, when new clams are posted they don't last long.

I want a large squamosa for a centerpiece too, my croceas are a bit...boring? Haha, I want something big that will suck up all the water and create a tidal wave when it spits.
