Question how to add phosphate remover with out buying a reactor

Hi All

I want to add some phosphate remover to my system with out buying a reactor.I have around 540 gallons with my 300(main tank) three 70 gallon sump/fudge and a 50 gallon sump that holds my skimmer and return pump

any ideas on how I can run some on this system with out spend $$$$ to do it?

A reactor should only cost $30 or so, plus a small pump to feed it. However, if you can't get one, just use a really fine filter bag to hold the media and then place it somewhere where water will flow through the media. An upflow reactor will make everything much more efficient, but just tossing a bag of it in the sump will work.

Several ladies kneehigh nylons partially filled with same and set in water stream. 50 cents a pair.
