trim fuge?

how exactly does one trim/prune the algea in ones fuge so as to not hurt anything

I don't know of any macro you would have to worry about hurting. When you have too much algae, just pull some out. What macro are you using?

im not sure exactly but i am gettig a lot of red algie on it and it has comleatly taken over my little fuge i think its cheato but im not positive it looks like little vines with leaves o them

Chaeto looks like a big wad of green angel hair pasta. You probably have caulerpa. Either way, no special pruning techniques are needed.

so do i cut it or just pul it out and do i want to remove so much that the light hits the bottom of the fuge

Just pull it out. I don't think it matters if the light hits the bottom. Just thin it out enough to leave room for new growth, remember, the more you leave the more nutrients it will pull out. But don't leave enough that it starts to die, because then it will release the bad stuff back into the system.
