Question Need help with RO unit Early X-mas gift

My wife bought me a Coralife Pure-Flo 2 RO unit for X-mas. I was going to my LFS (local food store) for RO water today. My wife was in a good mood and gave my X-mas gift early. Coralife RO unit. My questions are is it good unit and does anyone have tips for set up? She paid $150.00 for it. I checked around and that's not to bad from the LFS.

They do not have a very good reputation. Sadly they have earned what they got.
If you have not used it yet and your wife wouldn't get upset, you can get a much better unit for less than $50 more. There are several RC sponsors that sell what is considered to be reef quality systems in the $160-$200 range that will live up to their reputation.

www.airwaterice.com
www.purelyh20.com
www.spectrapure.com

Sounds like you have a great wife so don't upset her!

I would agree, that unit is one of the units that gets alot of complaints. I would go with the filter guys based on quality and support.

Many units out there were designed for drinking water, and then the manufacturers realized they had a new market to sell to, us hobbyists.

lowes sells the whirl pool and that uses specialized and expensive parts. ( its a pos that cost to much in the end)

go with the filter guys ( or any of the rc sponsors.. its all the same product)

or spectrapure if you want somthing that is different and of really great quality

Stick with the RC sponsors. The e-bay quality units are pretty poor quality.
