Graphic Designers/Artists

Anyone do this for a living? Or know anyone that does.

I have a small task for someone..

Need a logo for my website and I have zero skills in art and I'm a big fan of not stealing someone elses images and manipulating them.

I don't do it for a living, but would work on it for you in my spare time.

I have experience with Photoshop and Illustrator. I could put in sometime and bounce ideas off of you.

Let us know what you want in the image... (reef tanks, monkeys, etc..)

If you already have a website then it would much easier to cater to your color choices and design style.

Tell us what you want and I am sure you will get tons of responses.

James, I see that you are trying to get as lucky as I did. You might just pm Crystal and have her whip one up. She is top notch.

Oh James, a couple of questions for you, on your site. What software do you plan to use for your discussion board. And who are you using for hosting and what kind of plan?

As far as the design - I'd love to see a demented looking gorilla or monkey either holding, smashing, eating or playing with an acro. I'm open to ideas..

Adam - not sure. the site will be setup with frontpage and the host is lowfathost.

will do sir.

So Blazerdog I took your advice. Seems like most of their creations are just manipulation of existing artwork. I guess my concern is copyright infrindgement. I'd much rather have a new image created...

James why not just talk to someone like melev who has a million pics I bet he will let you use his pics.

I am not sure where crystal got my pics, and I don't really want to know.

It's not the coral part I'm concerned with. I have pictures of my own that I can use. It's the monkey part of "reefmonkey" that I'm concerned with. A snitched image of a monkey is harder to come by.

I have a few on my computer at home from a visit to the ST. Louis zoo. I will send them to you, and you are free to use them as you see fit.

LOL... yeh, I thought I said to PM me. Maybe I'm imagining things though.

The gorilla/monkey part is the difficult part of that. I assume it would work to take a real gorilla pic, use filters on it so it appears illustrated, and change the face to be "demented". I can see what I can do with it, but it would be tomorrow as my schedule is full today. (Lost and American Idol are coming on).

Any particular colors you are looking for? Do you have any acro pics you'd like to use? It would be much cooler if the gorilla is torturing your own corals.

Adam, your pics are safe.

Crystal

Sounds good! I'll see what I can come up with.

Anyone else who wants to give it a try is willing to get involved as well. I'm not selfish or anything...

Thinking of doing something like this:

Pretend the girl is an acro. Will try to look for a real monkey that looks like King Kong. Curious George sounds like a good candidate. LoL

Well, this isn't exactly the way I was trying to get it to be, but it is all I have time for right now. He's just a little too evil looking IMO and the monkey/reef don't quite match art-wise but eh.

Avatar version:

I never just submit a project without walking away for a while then coming back so I will probably cringe when I see it later, but... oh well.

I did save the .psd file with all the layers. If you would like to play with it, PM your email address to me and I'll send it over... or the same if anyone else would like to tweak it.
