why is reef central so slooooowww??

Is it just me or is it taking longer to load this page and the topics? It takes a good 40 seconds on a t-1!! It use to only take about 5. Ive tried both standards of browsers. Ive tried emptying my cashe. Anyway I love this board and Im willing to put up with it but dang this is getting old and annoying.

it's not that bad over here, granted it's a bit slower than usual though... maybe just increased traffic?

There's a thread in the lounge about this. I've also experienced a major slowdown today, and not only on this site. Check out a bandwidth meter at http://www.2wire.com/services/bandwidth.asp . I'm only running at half speed on dial up, and it times out on my cable modem. So in my case,RC only gets half the blame

I was just about to call my MIS dept and ask who threw the anchor overboard....
Then again, they would be asking me how RC is related to my job???? I'll just telll them it helps keep my sanity in tack heheheh..

I am the MIS department for my company, I've already checked our T1 line, Proxy servers, Internal IP traffic, and I'm still running like a dang 56k line! Not sure what the problem is but it might be at the ISP where RC board is located.

Glad to hear I' m not the only one who is dragging. I'm on a DSL and I couldn't believe how slowly the pages were loading.

I've checked everything and compared against a bunch of other web sites and this is the only one that is running soooooo sloooow...... So i think it is on the RC side of the wire...

Could be worse! my bank updated their internet access system and now I cannot login into my checking account through the proxy server here at work.

I bought a cable modem and signed up for a $50.00/mo. service so that I didn't have this problem. I think the problem is with the RC servers. Not much else is this slow.
