What does it mean for caulerpa to go sexual and how do you know if it has?

It turns white and when you go to pick it up, it melts and clouds up the water.

when it goes sexual, it releases spores into the water and more will grow. You know if it has done this by, insted of it being the green color, with will be clear/white. You don't want a lot of this in your main tank, it can take over. You need to trim it frequently. It is good to have in a refrug. though. Tangs also love it.

NEVER! use Calerpa in a reeftank. It's a plague. the best thing is if you can remove every trace of it, but that could be difficult

I have seen many people use this and like it. Why do you say never use it?

Grape Caulerpa can be a plague, it grows like mad in the display tank choking out coral. I solved my problem w/ caulerpa in the display by adding a one spot rabbitfish in the display, he wiped out the caulerpa.
