The Reeflux 12k is definitely less blue than the Phoenix. This is off the same 150w DE magnetic ballast. The Reeflux 12k would be my hands down favorite so far if not for its relatively low PAR. Anectodely, I noticed slowed growth and even color loss when I switched from the Reeflux 10K -> 12k. As a point of reference, I've tried the Phoenix, Hamilton and Ushio bulbs as well. I'm sticking with the Reeflux 10k for now as a compromise until I find a better alternative.

Texsun, I agreed on your assessment regarding 10K and 12K reeflux. Now I run 12K reeflux SE but 400w.

Texsun,
You have run all of these brands of bulb on 150W DE?
On the Hamilton and Ushio, what color temperature of bulbs have you tried?
Thanks.

Ali and Gabriel run 14k phoenix. They have a sweet blue tint to them. The Reeflux 12k on the other hand has 2x the blueish color to that of a phoenix 14k.

Let me clarify my earlier comparison. The Reeflux 12k definitely casts a blue hue but really makes makes colors pop; especially red.

The Phoenix, however, makes everything a shade of bluish/purple to the extent that it mutes colors giving it an overall more blue look, IMO.

dwl, yes I ran them all on the same ballast. The Hamilton was the 14k and the Ushio was most likely 14k, though I can't remember for sure.

it also makes purples and blues look good. IMO I think the reeflux looks more natural. All colors are fairly even and nice. IMO again the Phoenix ( seen Ali's tanks) they had a more white color to them, But colors look pretty good but slight muted like texsun stated .I know you guys might get mad for me saying this but Women see color better than men ( don't shoot the messenger )
