Honestly man, you have got some really aggressive fish in there and I would really hate to see something happen to that beautiful tank but you should come to expect it with the 2 big angels, the clown tang and the clown trig...I wish you all the luck in the world and if somethin bad happens (some may not admit it), it has happend to us all so dont sweat it.

I appreciate your concern for my tank. I have no worries or aggression from any of the fish to concern me. Yes books say this fish can not go with that fish. But my point of view on this is every fish is different. My yellow tangs are the most territorial fish in the tank. The books would say the clown trigger or the clown tang or even my large angels would be the aggressor's. Not the case here.

I agree with HDtvguy.....you can only take the advice of books so far, but you have to then fill in the gaps with personal experience.

Every source tells you that Clown triggers will eventually go crazy and kill everything, that they bully other tankmates relentlessly, that they are always top-dog, etc. I just had to get rid of my bluejaw trigger (which the books say is one of the more docile triggers), because for over a year, it ruled my clown trigger and wouldn't let him be

Aggression is also a factor of feeding and tank structure, IME. You will see a lot more aggressive behavior out of the fish if they are underfed. Also, in a lot of FO or FOWLR tank, there isn't adequate rock work and "hidey-holes" so that each fish can stake his claim to a territory. That is IMO why you see people sharing stories about aggression in their tanks.

I have had a bad experience with a CT and probably will never trust one again in a community...although they are my favorite fish.

the thing is alot of information in books is based off fish out in the ocean.. well when you put them in a glass box everything changes. with the equipment advances latly there is no solid proof to stand by any opinion that one fish cant be with another..

one thing I know is that MY clown trigger is awesome. nice, eats good, plays good. and my queen angel is in fact just that an "Angel" .... btw 98% downloaded... gotta go movie time!

Great Vid! Is that a sheet of seaweed? That thing isn't gonna last long. What kind of food bill a month are you looking at to feed those beasts?

sean48183,
I feed the tank 3-4 sheets a day of the seaweed. On top of the other foods feed in a day. Not sure what the monthly food bill is?

Continue to impress!!! I think you are my favorite inspiration!!! I think its funny that several of these guys are SO concerned about your tank! Its an exact replica of what everyone who has ever defied the "laws" of boundaries has had to endure! Keep up the GREAT TANK!!! ~Matt

Awesome it finally worked!! Thanks, i was about to give up Such pretty fish I am planning a 300gal+ display and i think i'm going to do something like yours. I want the tank mostly for the fish, so i'm planning any corals around the fish.

Thanks,

The Emp seems to get his way the most! His grunting is very loud can be heard around the house.

Hey HGTV, my clown tang will only eat nori, purple and green algae (same thing?) scrapes the glass and rocks, but won't eat mysis or brine shrimp or pellets.

I watched the feeding video of yours and noticed the similar behavior with your ct, it waits for the others to tear it up and then comes around and eats the scraps....is that an accurate take on it?

Well, it seems tough to keep it full.

I try the clips, but the clown TRIGGER and blue line trigger won't dare let something serve a purpose on their watch....instantly stripped and pulled off the glass.

Sounds lame, but it works for me: I keep a little cup of saltwater and nori mixed and mush it all apart to make particles, then pour in a little at a time. I do this in the morning before work, when I get home and again once or twice before bed. That is the best I can do, but it doesn't have the girth of your ct yet, still looking a bit skinny by the head.

The closest thing I have to an all day feeder is to stuff the trigger in the morning and let them "time release" it back into the water. It's gross, but filling up the tang!
