Sony CD mavica

I would like a little help on how to use this camera if anyone has any suggestions. I don't have any lenses yet, and I don't know much about camera settings. Here are some tank pics that I took with it

any help would be great

Very nice! I like the first shot. I'd shoot without the flash though.

For some tips, check out the "Techniques" section here:

Thanks gho

ok, I think that I have figured it out...maybe. I went to the "Sunken Gardens" here in Lincoln and took some pics. You can critique all you want, but I think I am on to something here
BTW it IS off topic, but maybe someone can explain to me how this happened...

And I appreciate your comments btw. I will check out that site as soon as I am done posting.

How what happened? That's a pretty awesome shot, if you ask me.

I know

That's what happened...I don't know what I did to make that pic look right. It was taken at 2 in the afternoon, with completely sunny skies, and only the flower showed up in the picture. I guess I am trying to understand what the priority was to filter out the harsh sun, and bring out those beautiful colors. These were taken the same time and day

So, in anyone's opinion, what made the difference or sometimes is it just kinda luck?

Well, for noobs, getting a great shot is sometimes luck (because noobs usually shoot in program "P" mode which allows the camera to make all the photographic decisions).

After you've taken a few thousand pics, it becomes experience. You learn what makes a good pic and a not so good one and you change the environment/camera to capture what you're after.

In the link I gave you, there's a lot of background stuff on how cameras work, what all the settings mean and what they do. They will help you change that "luck" into experience.
