T5 for 72" tank

Thinking of upgrading to T5's

Can anyone suggest a setup for 72" tank.
how many bulbs? 2x3ft next to each other or 1x5ft per row etc
its mixed reef....a little of everything

Also I heared that you can get 220volt ballast which supposable help output even when plugged into 120v. can someone elaborate?

Thanks for your help

I have the Constellation from Aquactinics... 14 bulbs... 7 rows of 36" bulbs...I love it! Individual reflectors, built-in fans... getting great growth and... no heat!

Oh by the way, check out their forum on here in the sponsers... my tank is an inwall, so I was able to get a perfectly good working fixture that has a little dent for half the price they normally go for... just a thought...

I have a retrofit 3 x 80watt that are 60" on my110g that is 72"

They work great for my corals. I staggered the lights and there are really no major light shortages.

I got the lights from reefgeek and have been pleased with their help.

I was debating 2 x 36'' but i ended up getting 60'' for my 72'' tank, because the bulb price would be practically half since the price difference between 36'' and 60'' are so minimal. I have a total of 9 bulbs with icecap 660 ballast. I originally planed to stagger them but decided not to. As picky as I am i can hardly tell that the sides are dimmer.

Is this also on a 72'' tank and you are overlapping the 48''?

I also have a 660 icecap ballast, but I only have 3 x 80watt 60". Can I add another 60" light onto the ballast?

No it's not possible. The icecap can only do three 60'' bulb. There are two limits that it has, either by length or by wattage. Adding another 60'' bulb will exceed the length limit.
