drilling holes in my rocks for coral placement..

Yeah, the title says it; does it work and is it ok?

Yes, you can drill holes in your rock. Check out reefvideos.com, there is a video on there of pegging corals and he shows that he drilled the rock for corals.

It works great. My suggestion is to drill more than you need so that when you get new frags in the future you won't have to pull the rock out to drill again.

Yes u can drill them, it gets quite simple to place and move them.

My entire LR pile is drilled every 2-3", and I use 1/4" acrylic rods as pegs. It's a great system, easy to remove colonies for fragging, or re-arrange as corals grow and start warring.

Won't the corals eventually encrust the peg and then the rock anyway?

Let the drill do most of the work. The more force you apply will make the rock crack and split.

And they will encrust over the pegs and rocks. It just makes it easier to place frags on the rocks.

i drilled messive holes on my rock , and plug frags in with smallest airline tube.

Ebay... I think I paid about $7 for 10 feet of it. You could use just about anything, rigid airline tubing is also pretty popular.
