Fresh water reef on Discovery HD Theater

Last night I watched a recorded episode of the Planet Earth documentary series on DiscoveryHD, it was about fresh water life on Earth. They showed a fresh water reef in one of the largest fresh water lakes on Earth.

The color and life patterns of that fresh water reef was just unreal, as if you were looking at some pre-historic environment. I was sure had the narrator said it was shot in a newly discovered lake on Mars, people would not have suspected a thing. And watching it on a 110" movie screen was the best thing I could ask for.

Stunning high definition TV series BTW.

Now if anyone can duplicate in captivity a fresh water reef, that'd be something.

The lake is Lake Baikal, which is in Siberia, and it is the largest and deepest lake on the planet. I imagine you would need quite a large chiller to be able to even try to replicate that environment.
