What is this spinning webs out of my LR?

Hi all - just discovered something that has been spitting a fine web-like thread in my tank. Any ideas?

Is it safe to keep in my tank? It seems if I leave it alone just for a few days, it could have the rock it's on covered in this web-like substance.

Thanks!

looks like a spionid worm to me. These are pests IMO. They will extend their weblike mass to catch food and in turn aggravate your corals. I would inject some calcium hydroxide into it if i were you

Actually I thought it looked like a vermetid snail. They use a web like secretion to catch food. For the most part I think they are harmless, but they can spread fast.

I agree on vermetid snail, I have a few of these in my tank, you can super glue the holes on their tube shut if you don’t want them to spread, the babies leave the parents tube and go off into the tank to create their own tube, from what I understand they can sometimes be irritating to corals

Thanks, everybody, for the quick responses! This snail happens to be on just a small piece of rock, which also happens to be right on top so I'll just take the whole piece out.

Thanks!
