coralline hasnt been a problem,i clean the acrylic at least 3 times a week so it doesnt ever get a chance to build up on the viewing panels.

Chris, why dont you add a remote deep sand bed in a 5 gallon tub?

i dont believe they offer any real benifit in reducing nutrients.i had a refuge that i took off line and it hasnt made my numbers go up,they actually went down.

hmmm. I see so what are you going to do to get everything back in check? A few water changes?

water changes do nothing to solve the long term nitrate problem, rowa and vodka, along with thinning my fish load out should help.the plan is to sell all of my tangs, then replace them with anthias.i cant do much more that i know of to lower the nitrates.i have been changing the sock daily, empty and clean the skimmer cup daily.i am now getting about 20-26oz of nasty skim per day.i feed slightly less and do a 20g WC weekly.the PO4 has dropped from .18 at its high point down to .06 as of yesterday(on the hanna meter).the nitrates are holding around 30ppm no matter what i do,so i assume im either putting in too much nutrients or my filtration cant remove all of it.
