if you're talking the sulfur ones they work great and are defiantly worth the price. myself i like the Korallin's and size would depend on your tank size and bio-load/feeding habbits/etc.... the Midwest aquatic isn't a bad choice either and are a little cheaper.

I have done a lot of research on the subject. The H&S models seem to perform very well. I going to use one in conjuction with a BK skimmer, 2 deltec reactors for purigen and phosban, an MTS ozone reactor. I will have no fuge. I like the H&S brand because you can put it right into the sump. just my 2 cents

any of the mentioned ones can be placed in sump as long as your sump isn't 20" deep.

I am always impressed by the knowlege here. Jetcat is right, you can put other reactors in the sump. H&S was designed to be placed in the sump and requires just one pump. Other types, like midwest, will require another pump in addition to the one installed on the unit. If I am wrong I am sure I will be corrected

The Midwest requires the aqua lifter pump or you could gravity feed. I have the Midwest xl model. Had some trouble at first, but now it kicks butt. The reason I went with this unit, is because everyone who bought 1 said they have excellant customer service and they back their product with a 120 day no questions asked return policy. Rick, I beleive he is the owner answers all e-mails and returns phone calls right away and is always willing to help if there is a problem. At least thats my experience with Midwest and I would highly recommend their denitrifier.
