Question nano heater???

Hi!

I'm seeking a teeny tiny heater for my 2 gallon Red Sea nano. Can anyone recommend a good heater and source to purchase??? Thanks!

Talking

Ha! Nevermind...I found one at Walmart of all places. A 4" 7.5 watt heater for around $7 called the "Junior Heater"for 2-5 gallon tanks.

Eek! I had one of those... and returned it shortly. I couldn't set the temp., the suction cup didn't work, and there was no indicator light. Most importantly, my temperature wasn't stable.

Good luck if you decide to use it, but I just got a simple 25 watt for my FW 2.5 g Mini-Bow. It's a bit bigger than the Junior heater, but I can manually adjust the temp.

Yeah, this is a TEST. LOL! I am monitoring the tank tonight to see what the temp will get up to. If it's unstable, BACK IT GOES! If it's too hot...same thing Yeah, I'd prefer to be able to adjust the temp. I'm going to search the web and see what I find. Someone must have a tiny heater made for smaller nanos...I hope!

Definitely beware! I got one of those for a 5g FW QT tank several years ago, and it melted into it. Fortunately, no fish were in the tank. I'd stay away from anything you can't set a temp on.

Glad you're testing!

Well, it's been on for 2.5 hours so far and all is well...knock on drift wood! I'll see what the temp is at midnight, and watch it all weekend. I'll report back!

Yeah, IMO those things suck. I bought TWO to put in a 5g bucket when making water for water changes. You would think that TWO would keep the water somewhat warm...right? They worked once. That's it. They now reside in the "fishtank junk that doesn't work anymore" pile.

COOL! I just ordered one!

THe tank stayed at 75-76 all night and is still the same this morning, but I don't trust it. I''ll use the junior for acclimating under supervision. Thanks so much!
