*** is going on

my purple mushroom leather coral had gone almost 80 percebt green and its not opened anymore. Anyone know whats going on. plz

do you have a pic? have you tested your water. More info would be needed to make a diagnosis, specific gravity, lighting, flow, tank age, other inhabitants etc. anything and everything you can think of.

I'm thinking that it has closed up to shed and there isn't enough flow to blow the mucus off the coral, and now it is collecting algae growing on it.

I agree Travis, they will ocassionally close/shrink up and when it sheds it looks like skin peeling from a sunburn. Take a turkey baster and blow it off if you don't have a lot of flow. HTH.

could also be a result of too much light, not enough or poor water quality.
