Question

I have a question about the clown fish hopefully someone can answer.

The larger fish has a black outline around her whole body...tail, fins, etc.
the smaller one doesn't have this outline...say from right behind the 2nd stripe.... it's tail but has the smallest amount of black. The fin on top towards the tail dosn't have this black either. Anyone know why? Is it because it needs to mature or could it be different type clowns?
I do think they are both true percs.

Mine have black stripes around their white...so they are true.
I just wonder why the little one doesn't have the black outline on all the parts my larger one has. Guess it's just young...and they'll appear when it gets older.

congrats on the sump PaPa!! it looks nice. similar to my design just a lot cleaner looking. it wouldn't be that hard for you to add one more baffle for the last "under". you will not be happy with this if a little water fall creates bubbles and the return sucks them in. i do like the large return section though, lots of room for evap!!

i would leave it Phil. as long as its not getting back into your main tank its doing the job of a refugium. look at it as free nutrient export. I've even thought about putting some algae in mine

fire ants for sure. isopods are parasites fire ants are predators, and pack hunters. the fire ants around here kill all kinds of small animals i give the major edge to them because if you through fire ant in to a tank with isopods the isopods wouldn't react. if you through an isopod onto an ant hill, it will most defiantly be consumed. it would be a good show for animal planet though

Well it's just a tiny bit from the old post so new people can see what we've been talking about these past few months. Now if they follow the thread, they'll get all the new pictures. They can always go back and read the original and see all the pictures, but if they don't want to be bothered going thru all those pages, a few pictures are here now.

Good idea there Pat, a lot of people would loose interest trying to read thru all that. This way it a quick overview for them

Also Jason, I did it because the first pictures in this thread are of the Cirolanid Isopod...
That isn't what most people would get with their TBS. I didn't want people to think that they will definetly get any of those buggers!
