fibreglass fish vats

is fibreglass 100% reef safe ??

i know they use it in large systems in public aquariums, but what about coral trays etc ??

i have one that would be handy to use as my sump and want to be 100% sure befoe i start risking my stock !!

The fibre glass part is 100% reef safe, the resin that you use to bind it may not be, epoxyresins are generally preffered because they do not break down in UV light like Polyester.

makes sense have asked around and doesnt seem to be any problem in using it as it was designed for fish use

You will not have any problem with fiberglass tanks. After they cure it is inert. I have been using them for a year or so. I know other growers that have used them for many years. Just make sure that if they are used they didn't have anything in them to harm corals. Did they have fish and treat with copper etc.

Fiberglass vats have beeen the standard in commercial hatcherys and aquaculture for years.

this is what i thought bud was sure i had seen something about there use wth salt water was no good ??

but im wrong and happy to be so {doesnt happen that way often lmao}
