Talking Setting up a prop tank

So my buddy and I were talking about using some of our old equipment and setting up another 20 gallon and using it as a prop. We found out we had every piece needed to set it up without spending a dime.

Lights - 2-55 watt pc's (temp) I have an extra 250 watt halide that is being repaired. seaclone skimmer, powerheads, sand, the tank, a custom built filter, and even live rock!

The tank as of 20 min ago...

The filter...

My 75 gallon (where the corals are coming from)

Now my friend and i got pumped up so we decided to put another 20 gallon up for zoas, gsp's, and softies using an eclipse top w/ pc's here is the tank.

Now we are excited so we make future plans and order 2 more 250-watt halides and get a 55 gallon tank for free.

Now we have been hit by the propagation bug. Were doing this mostly for fun, but maybe we could even make a few bucks while were at it. In my bedroom, I now have a 75, 55, and 2-20 gallons. This all happened in a matter of hours.

Propagation is a blast, but a lot of work. Rewarding, but hard nonetheless.

it is especially frustratring that the corals you want to grow the most take the longest. And when you sit by the tank to watch them grow, it gets boring after a couple of hours.

Nice sytem, BTW.

Ciao,

Felipe

Thanks! lol, I just got done watching them "grow" about a minute ago. I've done a little fragging here and there for my friends, so at least I got the jist of it.

I just talked to a pet store that said they'll buy xenia's and gsp's for 10$ a piece. Only the fastest growing corals in this hobby. I guess I better start fragging those.

It's not just the money though, it's a lot of fun and I actually feel like I'm helping the reef in a very small way. But man this is just as addicting as when I got my first sps!
