Salifer test kit question

Hi, I did not see Salifert forum any more so I ask in this forum.
wonder that the Cal test kit with CA part2 requires 8 drops, does it make any different if it is 7 drops, 7.5 drops, or 8.5 drops... Thanks,

That part is not especially critical, but I do not see any reason to use other than the recommended amount. The only critical measurement in a calcium test is the titrant addition at the end. All others are typically present in excess.

was wondering about this also. just replaced my older Cal kit which called for 6 drops. now its 8. havent found anything that explains the reasoning for the change. ive done 6,7 and 8 drops with the results coming within +/-25 of one another.

this was the first thing to 'run out' in the previous kit. imo, without a sound reason - the change to 8 drops is simply a way for salifert to sell more kits

ive been a fan of salifert kits for years but im moving along with what has transpired of late

Without knowing the concentration of the chemicals in the fluid, it's hard to say if they actually changed what is added or not.

Hmm, plus or minus 25 ppm isn't all that close for the calcium test kit, in my experience. I've done a number of side-by-side runs, and the results were usually closer than that. Hard to say, though.
