i shocked my tank

my skimmer when out and shocked my tank. all fish are ok. clams look to be ok but the corals lps, sps, and softy's don't look to great. the sps have bleached most of there color. my question is. do the clams get shocked my the corals? and what should i look for/do from what i have already done to get things back in order? i've done a 20% water change, pulled the skimmer out and put a new pump on it. the water still looks cloudy and i'm hoping that the corals will color back up and pull through. some of the softy's are starting to come back . but the xeina's don't look to great. should i pull them out? or leave them to see if they come back?

and i'm not sure how long the tank was being shocked my the skimmer pump. i woke at 4am to a funny noise and that's how i found the skimmer. unplugged it. i had to go out of town for the day for work and came home and did my best. ( i had no idea that tank was being shocked my the pump till i got home and pulled the skimmer out of the sump)

i've been realy upset about all this and didn't get much sleep.

Just make sure that all the paramiters are good (ammonia nitrate, nitrite, ph, and such). Put a new bag of carbon, and do another 20% water change in a day or so. Also cut the light back to about 1/2 and over a week bring it up to full duration, just to give the corals a little less activity. That should pull you through

ps what exactly happened with your skimmer?

it was a rio pump. and it just shorted out. burned a hole in the back of the pump.

they are known for doing that. i just thought i was luck. haha.

had plans on changing it out but just hadn't got to it yet.

Just leave everything and do a couple of water changes. Things should begin to come around. Looks like you'll be changing the pump after all.
