Who is keeping Tridacnids with angels?
I have a majestic angelfish in my 75 gallon sps reef, and he only takes an occasional nip at corals, and has never done any damage. I am interested in getting a clam, I know I have the lights (250w halides) but I would like to hear some success stories of others with angels and clams in the same tank. I think I will try a hippopus clam, and if my angelfish picks on it I can move it to my refugium. I chose Hippopus because from what I have heard they require the least amount of light and I do not have great lights over my refugium.
So how are your angels coexisting with your clams?

I have a C. potteri with 25 or so clams and it has not done any damage to them, he does nip at the shell, I assume going after something juicy, but never after the mantle. My leopard wrasse (meleagris) and Mimic tang do the same.

I have a flame angel. It leaves my clams alone. Otherwise, it's out!

I have a Flame and he used to nip at my Deresas but doesnt bother any more . Hippopus would be a good idea as there is no big flappy mantle to attract them to have a go .
