Chelmon rostratus is a good eater of Aiptasia. Not all the Chelmon eat the aiptasia but an high percentage of them eats all the aiptasia in your tank. One Chelmon is ok for one tank of any size. Be careful to giant clams , sometimes chelmon can attack them but rarely. Try to get a chelmon in the shop already eating otherwise you risk to see it died after the aiptasia finished...

It has a reflective layer on the outer edge...It's not some ground breaking technique...I just had it laying around and thought I'd slap together another prop tank. I do hope it helps reflect and disperse light into the hard to reach areas of some of my colonies....seems to be doing the trick so far...

The mirrored portion sounds like a great idea. Why doesn't every one with a BB frag tank go the mirrored way, it could only help right. Although the cost might be alot more.

I've been thinking about setting up a prop tank for fun. For you guys that have prop tanks (except of the business owners and large scale people that posted) do you have them setup just to grow stuff out for yourself, or do you sell the corals for profit?

I set mine to up to keep my display nice and tidy. Eventually things will get too big. I try and trade to LFS, go to frag swaps and I do sell some online. Would not necessarily say I make a profit. $5-15 a frag helps pay for stuff I need or want

Ours was setup specifically with trimmings in mind. I dont agree at all with chop shop type setups, and so any time something needs trimming, it gets put in the prop tank.

I'll admit, that I'd like to make some money on it, but for now, its been $5-$15 frags (like the above post). I just sold some yesterday, and I think that its gonna be money OUT of the tank is money INTO the display tank. Salt, kalk, a nre piece of equipment, etc.

So we are not a for profit venture, though I've considered selling some online, or to the LFS. I also have trading in mind.

Here is my 90 gallon 48x36x12 I just finished plumbing into main display. Eventually I will have a LA3 and a SE 250 xm over the tank. For now, a Phoenix 14k DE on SLS mag ballast.

Still trying to get the leak at the union stopped.
