Skimmer for 1000g system?

hi i am looking at skimmers for over 1000g systme. (800display) i want to only spend 2k. i have been considering the H&S a300 that is on "sale" for 1999.00 at aquarium specialty. is this skimmer really rated for 1000g like it states?

what about the new bubble king 250 thats coming out?

i already own a ATI BM 250 in sump. rated for about 500g. so what other skimmer can i replace this with or use with my current skimmer?

also i have never had an external skimmer. any pros or cons against certain types?

thx
tony

H&S A300 is very a powerful protein skimmer but depend on your bioload and feeding habit. Bubble king 250 will not be comparable with the A-300 in my opinion. If you want to go with the BK route. You will need the 400 or larger. If your budget is 2k, go with the dart NW skimmer (ORCA).

The protein skimmer made by Sequence.... BTW, you need to check the price on that A300 again. It is $2499. If you can get it for $1999, please let me know

If i understand correctly, the only company bring in H&S product in USA is Finsreef. Brian announces the price goes up in Nov 1 2007. The real price on that skimmer is $2499.

Grotech HEA400 skimmer?
It is an venturi protein skimmer using 4 standard eheim 1260 with a very large body. Here is some information i gather.

Note: you may not like the price....

Passer op til 12000L
Beskrivelse:
HEA400 Eiweißabschäumer

HEA400 - up to 12.000 Liter

Our new high-performance protein skimmer stands out due to the very low energy requirement at extremelyhigh air power.

We managed to break the previous power limits by a newly developped
nozzle system. Our HEA are equipped with EHEIM serial dosing pumps, which ensures high quality as well as an excellent supply of spare parts.

All HEA are equipped with a SDV1-sound absorber, which reduces the total air suction noise. This on the other hand means that the originally extremely quiet running HEA becomes even quieter and will thus also be qualified for incorporation in living rooms.

Due to the construction with external filling pump resp. bypass of the main pump, the GroTech HEA are suitable for the use inside as well as outside the filter sump.

Moreover, the HEAs are independent of the water level, which guarantees an equal skimming even in case of a reduced water level in the filter bassin.

In case of external incorporation, only the glueing of the PVC-flow set will be necessary.

HEA 400 Skimmer up to 12.000 l
4 x EHEIM 1260 - 260 W
Construction size (lxwxh) 850 x 450 x 1000 mm

Here is the picture of that monster
