OT technical question

somethng that bugs me about this site is this:

i have the reef club's forum as a favorite, so it comes to the forum without having to go through the home page. every time i come to the site, it brings up old pages (maybe the last time i came?) and i have to hit refresh to see any new threads and/or new pm's.

is this because i'm using the forum's link as a favorite, or do other people have to do it?

I also book mark the club forum, but don't have the problem you describe. Here is my exact link.

it sounds a lot like you have the browser and not the actual site, gotta be something with the cache.... try going into your internet tools and erase all your old data this way it will be fresh again, who knows you might free up a lot of unnecessarily used space

Are you using IE or Firefox? (firefox is better IMO). If IE, go to the Tools/InternetOptions menu. Click the general tab if not already there, then click the Settings button in the Browser History section (may be different in older versions of IE, which version are you using?). Make sure 'Automatically' is selected for the 'Check for newer versions of stored pages'.

using ie7 on this computer, but ie6 on my work computer, and ie7 on the laptop. ie7 didn't have that option, but i'll check on ie6 at work.

That's what I posted above - firefox has a nicer user interface and WAY less security issues than IE6 (although IE7 is much better in security than IE6).
