what is happening to mushs?

My mushrooms usually look like this

And I put in my Marine snow today, like normal, and they did this...




What are they doing?????

They are spweing out their guts, its a reaction to some type of stressor. I would start testing water.

water tests out fine, and this morning they all look normal. It looked weird for about 5 hours yesterday then went back to normal in the night.

Yeah, that's what they do when they get upset. I've seen mine do that due to excessive handling, changing flow, being stung by a frogspawn, an annoying hermit crab, my poking it, etc. Don't worry, it's temporary. You just need to figure out what was annoying it.
