GSP and Shrooms

Will green star polyps sting and push back mushrooms?

i have a rock that used to have a bunch of flourecent redish /orange mushrooms on it
but now green star polyps are covering the same rock and the mushrooms look to be shrinking some... or not as vivid as they once where.. it could be thought hat instead of a blank rock it just looks as if they aren't as big and bright now that the gsp is surrounding them...
what do you guys think?

They won't sting the mushrooms, and there is a chance that the sting of the mushrooms will keep the GSP at bay for a while. If not, the GSP will grow to the mushroom and force them off the rock.
