This is the second time this one has split. So now I have three also. It only look a matter of 4 days to completely split.
It is bazaar looking when it happens, you would think it got some kind of desease. I looks horrible, then before you know it you have a new addition to you're tank, and for a change it was free
These photos were taken 2 days apart, Oct.14 and Oct. 15

Mushrooms come in a wide varity of colors and species from all different parts of the world. Some people look at shrooms and see a boring almost invasive coral. I myself think shrooms are one of my high points of interest, im simply amazed at some of them.

here is one of mine splitting.

almost done

some other shroomies

Here's my rhodactis. It changes colors depending on the light and depth.

IDK, I did not expect it to turn out like that. It was the size of an eraser head and was tan. Ironically, I bought the piece because of the green discosoma (well, I saw that hitchhiker too). Now, I like the rhodactis more.

I just call them hairy mushrooms. Im not sure on a species name. They get about 4-5 inches acrossed and split like mad. They also love intense light and dont mind high flow. They will eat about anything and are extremely agressive to neighbor corals and my clownfish.
Maybe that will help someone id them.
