Old TV show
Hmm where to begin...
I have vague recollections of a TV episode from childhood memories. In this episode, not really sure if there is one or several, I remember a narrator and a man referred to as a wizard or king. Thinking king of winter, possibly one for each season? There is snow, some kind of castle or keep, and wind. I remember a staff and a foe. No recollection of foe. Thinking a boy is in the episode. Is the king the foe? Can't remember. All is turned and the landscape sees sun again. Tree leaves bloom again, birds chirp, peace reigns. All this in anime. Around the time of Charlie Brown but before Rudolph and Frosty runs. Bookstores have no clue. Friends have no idea. Google is fruitless. Am I nuts??? Can't remember more...sooo long ago. |

You came here so you may be nuts. Nothing I can think of fits the bill, but could it have been an episode of Twilight Zone or one of those types of series. Hitchcock also comes to mind!
Good Luck!!

Might help narrow it down if you could let us know what decade we are talking about.
But, at the moment, all I am coming up with is "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" Was it an animation?

Sounds like the movie Narnia (sp) the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe to me.

How old are you?
Where were you living when you were a child (In case it was a local show)?

There was an animated version of The Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe on tv in '79.

There was also a beautiful Czech animation of The Princess on the Glass Hill that aired in the 50's. I never saw it again, but the images of the three horses are just amazing. That's kind of a snowy mountain...

At first I thought he was talking about "Santa Claus is coming to town" where Chris Kringle first meets Warlock and gives him the toy until he said it was before Rudolf and Frosty runs. Plus I wouldn't really say its an anime...

Also, what was it made in? Animation, claymation, live action?

It does sound like the Chronicles of Narnia. Any of this look familiar?

Sorry guys, buried "all in anime" deep in the post. Hmm, has to be in the 70's...
The WLW is a good start..will have to start there I guess. Definitely not Twilight Zone or Hitchcock. More suited for kids. Around this time there also used to be another series where the narrator drew sketches and then you went there. Don't recall the connection or if it's relative but seems about the same time. Appreciate all the help...thought it would be kinda fun as well. Maybe a Jason Bourne kinda moment..where specific details come to mind but get tossed around or jumbled...oh and definitely was not mushroom or acid induced as I was too young at the time. |
