I am running a Mag 9.5 (950gph) The overflow can only handle 600gph so its actually a match made in heaven due to head loss from the elbows.

If you reversed things, you could get by with a smaller pump and have the same flow you are getting now. I use an OR2500 on my 90 -- plenty of flow and only 38 watts. Less watts = less heat and less noise.

I agree, but its been over 1month since I purchased the pump so I can't return it.

Update:

My water prameters have been perfectly stable, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate are 0. I did not get a cycle after adding my cooked LR.

I got a cleanup crew 20 astrea snails to start out with. I will be adding 10 more Cerith's on Thursday. The bare bottom guys on this forum say a 2:1 ratio of Astrea's to Ceriths is best.

I bit the bullet and decided it's time for some action and I got a 3.5" powder blue tang. I have done lots of research on this type of tang. They seem very difficult to keep but I am up for the challenge. Before I bought him I noticed he was eating like a pig (nori clip).

I got him home, aclimated him for 1.5hrs by dripping 2drops per sec for 1hr then dumping half the water out and then 4drops per sec for half an hour. I added him to the tank and left the lights off for 12hrs (moonlights only).

Here are a couple video's of his behaviour.

Hey xenon got a quick question for you, and please take no affense to this I'm not bashing you or trying to sound negative. First I think you did a real professional and clean job on the Install, looks oustanding. Now I was just woundering, how come you went with the 2 M/J I noticed In the first set of Pics, and not somthing else with a little more flow? Or somthing that equals both M/J in the same amount of flow.

Those will be removed within the next week or so. I am waiting for a paycheck to order the Oceans Motions 4way. Then I can turn on my cuda and get 4,000gph of pure fury!

I had to rip the wall apart again to make this 90g fit. I had a 60g freshwater tank in the wall.. same dimmentions but 6" less deep.

This is what it looked like with 6 red belly pirahna's.

I decided to do the gate valve mod to fine tune the skimmer easier.

Thanks!

I bent a piece of acrylic to raise the skimmer 7" out of the water so that its within the recommended depth of 6-8". Once thats in the gate valve will be above water level.

Clamp it down and heat the edge with a heatgun and slowly bend it down. Then hold it for 30sec while it cool's down.

xenon - would you please specifically set out the steps that you used to convert from soft to hard plumbing. I contemplating following your ideas for my aga 75 rr. hanks.

The only thing you need are these. 3/4" and 1 1/4"

I guess what I need to know is if you replaced the bulkheads that came with the tank? If not, what have you used to attach the bulkhead to the plumbing. I can see the metal clamps, but is that flex pipe from the bulkhead? This is the connection I'm having trouble with. Thanks.

I did use the original bulkheads that came with the AGA overflow kit.

All you need is some clamps, and the 90degree elbow. I had to convert the elbow from threaded to socket.
