Also, listen to this. My venture into anemone keeping begins early. Last night I'm looking into my tank with the flashlight and what do I spy? A very small anemone!!!!!!! Its smaller around than a dime and its almost completely clear. It onlyextends at night and retracts during the day. Is this an anemone? I cant get a good pic cause its so small.

Last time I was at the petting zoo with my nieces and nephew, the damn Llama nearly bit my freakin ear off . I've taken care of some horses in my day though so I knew what to expect and deftly dodged it, hahaha.

dfcjr, be careful your tiny anemones aren't Majano or Aptaisia - both pests that you really will want to get rid of ASAP !!!

I've got three or four of those things in my tank and I also have no idea what it is. It's not aptasia or a mojano, it's just a tiny little thing that almost looks like a cross between an anemone and a fan.
Damn things came out of nowhere.
I'm keeping a close eye on them and will Joe Juice if any more of then sprout up.

Well, I know for sure its not aptasia. I'll have to look up mojanos and see what they look like.

Awesome BTA rumor!!!

That was right after I put it in the tank a month ago. Now it's bigger, the bubbles are fatter, and some are forked like an inflated latex glove.

I don't run actinics, just the 14k Phoenix bulbs. He'd moved under one of my returns a couple of weeks ago and I just put him in a new spot with a cave for his foot last night. Tonight he decided he liked the new spot and ate a silverside. Some of my corals flouresce under the blue moonlights, so I'll look tonight to see if the marbling does.

OK, I just bought a 175 watt halide system. I wanted more watts, but the sensible half wasn't going for it. What she doesnt know is that I'm going to run this along with 2 2x overdriven NO bulbs. Comes out to be about 275 watts total. My question to you guys is, What bulbs should I run? Would a 6500K halide with overdriven NO actinics be too blue?

dfcjr, its weird because Condy anemones need strong lighting. MH is preferred and its living under PCs. Its toward the top but I get 4 watts per gallon in my 55 long. And when I got it, it was really white or bleached and it has come along.

Thanks for the compliments. GO Pistons!!!

BTW, I just came from Miami.
